Pharr Literacy Project became known in the neighboring cities, and at that time only 40% of the students were from the City of Pharr.
Pharr Literacy Project officially became the Rio Grande Valley Literacy Center (RGVLC), still a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization.
RGVLC became a Member of ProLiteracy, an international non-profit organization that promotes Adult Education and Literacy.
The Center offers classes in Alton, Pharr, McAllen, San Juan, Progreso, Penitas, Edinburg, Weslaco, Mercedes, and Rio Hondo.
